Notes:
HP's 700 series may serve as an
example of the kind of system
described here, although it has
evolved to some extent over time.
While two different kernels which are
versions of the same OS may boot
from the same disk, it is normally
possible to install two OSes only if
you devote a disk to each one, since
they normally have different file
systems and cannot share a disk.
This is the case with machines on
which we used to run both HP-UX
(the HP operating system) and a BSD
variant from OSF which ran under the
MACH microkernel.
